Leet-type Characters
L-type characters, also known as Leet Characters, are a unique category of instakill characters. They are named after their use of the L33t language in their displayname (or name), and they stand out due to their use of unique techniques to defeat enemies, diverging from traditional instakill codes.
History
The concept of Leet Characters began around 2010–2011, with the author drab. He introduced the very first of this type: L_Reimu.
Early versions of L_Reimu utilized various techniques, such as turning off parameters like stcommon
, st0
to st9
(and more) or using DtC sctrls using commands like %nShiftF4
, %nF1 + %nF5
, and more.
As time went on, L-Reimu was enhanced with increasingly aggressive instakill methods, most of which cheap characters still use to this day:
- - Direct Death
- - Parent Forgery
- - CNS Corruption (which serves the same purpose as Root Deleter/CNS Obliteration.)
Character Style
In order to make a Leet character, you have to respect these conditions:
- - The character needs to have only one static grayscaled sprite, with no animations.
- - The character may remain fixed at the center of the stage or in their original character position. They cannot be controlled.
Making Leet characters easily distinguishable due to their simple style.
Most known Leet characters are based on Touhou edits, there are a few exceptions to this, though.
As mentioned earlier, these characters use original techniques to defeat enemies, and of course, sometimes combined with techniques already used by other enemies.
